A hotmail e-mail:
1. Get Add-ons Web-mail and Webmail-Hotmail, you can search for it
2. Go to file, and add a new e-mail account select Webmail
3. Type in your name and Hotmail e-mail address, like **@hotmail.com
4. Your incoming user name is your Hotmail address
5. To make sure about the settings, go to right click your e-mail account and go to properties
6. Go to server settings, the server name is localhost
7. Scroll down in the properties list to Outgoing server (SMTP)
8. Add a new outgoing server, the NB information is the port "25", server name "localhost"
and the user name is possibly your e-mail address (this should still be confirmed)
9. There you have your account
A normal e-mail:
- It would be an e-mail account and is where step 2 above differs slightly
- Type in your name and e-mail address
- Next, you need to confirm with your ISP what the incoming server is, as well as the outgoing server
- To add an outgoing server, go to the account (after right clicking it) properties and go to the outgoing server where you need to add information according to your ISP
- There you have it
A Maties account:
1. Add a new account and select webmail
2. Your username and e-mail will come next, like **@sun.ac.za
3. The server name is "imap.sun.ac.za", it should be confirmed by, afterwards, going to the account's properties, the port is 143. The user name is your student number.
4. Set up your outgoing server, create a new one at that option, port "25", user name is your e-mail address
5. Server name is "mail.sun.ac.za"
6. Note, I have tried it and it asks for certificate verification before getting e-mail and I could not send e-mail from the account, only get it, I don't know why this is the case yet
*Enjoy your e-mail 'simplification'
